I was excited when I learned that Mr. and Mrs. Smith 2 dream trailer did a fine job, enough for me to make trailer 2 because I always find action comedy trailers fun to make. I was right, since right from the beginning I knew this was gonna be great which happens rarely. But one thing I didn’t expect was to come up with a good storyline.

Instead of just another adventure of our favorite duo, but this time they have a son. Smith Jr. will be played by Taron Egerton. “I think you might be forgetting what you do for a living” line from BULLET TRAIN I transformed to be a conversation over the phone between Mr. and Mrs. Smith. “We play by the book” from BLACKSITE I made the topic about their job as spies following the rules.

The challenge was bringing fresh fight scene of Angelina Jolie since she doesn’t have recent action movies. I was gonna use clips from her old movies but it wasn’t good quality and it won’t be fresh to the audience. Thankfully ATOMIC BLONDE had fight scenes moments when it doesn’t show her face, which I capitalized to make Angelina Jolie be the one in the scene.
Then to establish the plot of Smith Jr getting framed, I used clip from BLACK SITE to introduce the bad guy. “We need you to take out your mom and dad” voice over I made, is to bring the plot of making their son go against them (which is a nod to the first movie about family conflict).

Perfect answer from BLACK BIRD “Not for all the money in the world”. “We raised a good son” voice over I made, to wrap the trailer making it about the son. Which I connected Angelina laughing for her perfect reaction. The Minions music was perfect for the action comedy vibe. I’m happy to say that this is a masterpiece trailer, I really enjoyed making it.
